Career Change Coaching

Thinking about changing direction in your career?

You’re not alone, in fact it’s rare these days to know exactly what you want to do when you’re in your teens and stick with it for the rest of your career.

Career change can be triggered by many things, for example:

  • Redundancy
  • Becoming a parent
  • Relocation
  • Stress and overwork
  • Bereavement
  • Illness
  • Lack of motivation at work
  • You chose your current career because someone else encouraged you to
  • You no longer enjoy the career which once excited you
  • You want to start your own business

Whatever your reasons for thinking about changing career, I can most likely help. I’ve changed direction myself and survived two redundancies, plus I’ve helped many other people to change direction and find their dream job.

Career change can mean different things to different people. For some it will mean making a complete change, for others it might be going part-time/freelance or changing sector.

Career Change Coaching Packages:

Career Assessment (2 hours)

In this two-hour session you’ll discuss your career to date, your strengths and development areas and the ideas you’ve had about your future career path. Before the session you’ll complete a psychometric profile (personality report) and you’ll go through this to see how well you’d fit with the career you have in mind.

Don’t worry if you know you want to change career, but you don’t know what you’d like to do – this session will get you thinking about different options.

You’ll brainstorm ideas and get honest feedback about your options.

Your session takes place either face-to-face at our offices close to London Bridge station or by phone/Skype.

Office hours only – earliest appointment starts 8.30am, latest appointment starts 3.00pm.

To book your session either call 020 7939 9910 or pre-pay using the button below (sessions must be paid for in advance):

  • Psychometric profile
  • Up-to-date CV and examples of covering letters
  • Audit of achievements to date
  • Collate feedback from previous appraisals/reviews and send to coach
  • Think about immediate career goals – what do I want to be doing in 6 months, 1 year and 5 years?
  • Collate details of recent job applications and interview feedback to date
  • Collate advertisements for jobs you’ll like to apply for
  • Portfolio/examples of your work

Sessions with your Coach

In addition to your scheduled sessions with your coach, you are able to contact them by phone between sessions to share a success or if you need urgent advice, for example just before an interview. You also have unlimited email contact with them (within reason) between sessions to update them on your progress.

All sessions are flexible, so they can happen in any order according to your priorities. For example, if you want to use session 2 to role play for an interview that you’ve got that week, then you can.

Between sessions you will be given ‘homework’ exercises to work on through the week so that you come to each session having made considerable progress.

Session 1 — Career Review and Action Plan (2 hours)

With your coach you’ll be objectively examining your career history to date, taking an honest look at what you’re good at and which roles you are most suited for, and starting to put together an action plan for getting you back to work as quickly as possible.

Session 2 — Defining Your Brand and Your USP (2 hours)

In this session you’ll be focusing on who you are, how you want to be perceived by employers, why you think someone should hire you and the feedback you’ve had so far about your interview technique. You’ll get honest feedback on your CV and have the opportunity to talk through how you can change people’s perceptions of you so that they see you in the right light.

Session 3 — Personal SWOT Analysis (2 hours)

In this session, you’ll build on the previous session to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats relating to your career and your job prospects. In this session you’ll refine the jobs and markets that you’re targeting and start to identify a ‘hit list’ of employers to target.

Session 4 — Your Personal Marketing Strategy (2 hours)

In this session, you’ll be setting out your Marketing Strategy for your personal campaign to find a new job. To identify opportunities, build rapport with the recruiter and secure a new position, you MUST be able to market yourself and then close the sale.

Session 5 — Writing Winning CVs, Covering Letters and Introductory E-mails (2 hours)

You’ll be shown which words and phrases will make your application stand out on paper and which ones are at best meaningless and at worst will result in your application going on the NO pile as soon as it’s opened.

Session 6 — Interview Success (2 hours)

In this session, you’ll be conducting an interview role-play. Prepare for and arrive at your session as if you are going for an interview. Seen the tough interviews on ‘The Apprentice’? You ain’t seen nothing yet! Perform well in this interview and you’ll be ready for anything. After the interview is over, you’ll get immediate feedback on how you did plus advice and tips on how to improve.

The package includes use of exercises and resources which will be provided to you, unlimited email access with your coach and emergency ‘hotline’ support if you urgently need to talk between sessions.

Sessions take place at our office close to London Bridge station.

Office hours only – earliest appointment starts 8.30am, latest appointment starts 3.00pm.
